Call for Diversity and Inclusion Subsidies
We’re excited to announce the Diversity and Inclusion initiatives for AACL-IJCNLP 2026 (the 5th Conference of the Asia-Pacific Chapter of the Association for Computational Linguistics and the 15th International Joint Conference on Natural Language Processing), designed to make our conference more accessible and inclusive for the global NLP community.
D&I Subsidy Program
- Application Deadline: September 30, 2026
- Notifications: October 7, 2026
We’re offering subsidies to support participation from researchers facing financial barriers, particularly those from developing countries, underrepresented communities, and students. Available subsidies include:
- Registration fee waivers for conference attendance
- Travel and accommodation support (reimbursed post-conference)
- Caregiving expenses for childcare or dependent care during the conference
- Bandwidth and VPN costs for virtual attendees
- ACL membership waiver
- Caregiving/accessibility support (this could cover babysitter costs, transportation, sign language interpreter costs, etc.)
Who should apply? Priority goes to first-time attendees, authors with accepted papers, and members of underrepresented communities without institutional funding support.
Application tips: Clearly justify your need (e.g., “I have an accepted paper but my institution cannot fund registration fees” or “As a first-time attendee from [country], I lack travel funding”). Do not register until you receive notification.
The application form can be accessed here.
